BIM Modelling
Construction has changed dramatically in recent years with technology playing a key role in reducing cost by saving time for developers.
Service Design Partnership understand how time and therefore money is wasted and has embraced Building Information Modelling (BIM) to help mitigate costs on major projects.
BIM enables Consulting Engineers to create designs and then give other members of the development team access to them to visualise and amend.
A BIM design is a virtual model of a building which deliver benefits which include:
- Reduce uncertainty
- Reduce waste
- Improve safety
- Iron out problems in the design stage
- Simulate the finished building
Working within tight budgets, limited manpower, accelerated schedules and conflicting information it is vital that we, as the Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) designers, can develop real life solutions that can be quickly, safely and efficiently incorporated into designs, yet amended if necessary. BIM enables us to do this.
BIM also allows us to collaborate more effectively with all partners in the construction and development process.
By working closely and using BIM Service Design Partnership can deliver savings of up to 25 per cent in construction and up to 70 per cent across the life cycle of a building.
